- Upload the release ZIP through HumHub or extract it under
protected/modules. - Confirm the folder is exactly
cgy-widget. - Enable CGY-Widget and select Configure.

Start with the content visitors should notice first.
- On Widget Studio, select Add widget.
- Enter a clear title and short description.
- Optionally add a background image URL.
- Choose an accent and readable text color.
YCP tipUse short copy: one idea, one action, and no more than two buttons.
03
STEP 3
Decide where the widget belongs in the community.
- Use Dashboard sidebar for site-wide calls-to-action.
- Use Space sidebar for all Spaces or one selected Space.
- Use Top menu or Footer menu for navigation links.
- Set a sort order when several widgets share one area.
YCP tipStart with one dashboard card, verify it, then add more placements.
04
STEP 4
Connect the card to an internal page or an external service.
- Enter a primary label such as Donate.
- Use a full
https://address for external links. - Use a leading slash for internal HumHub links.
- Optionally add a secondary action and new-tab behavior.
YCP tipScript URLs and malformed schemes are rejected for safety.
05
STEP 5
Show each widget only to the people who need it.
- Choose everyone, guests, members, or system administrators.
- Enable the widget.
- Save and visit the selected placement with a matching account.
- Check the layout on both desktop and mobile.
YCP tipIf it is missing, verify placement, audience, enabled status, URL format, and sort order.
06
STEP 6
Create a branded first impression for guests.
- Open Login Designer and enable the custom design.
- Set a background image and welcome text.
- Adjust accent, overlay strength, panel opacity, width, and corners.
