CGY-YouTube
Paste YouTube channel URLs, combine their newest public videos, choose a display limit and theme, and publish the feed in navigation, sidebars, Space menus, or the footer.

STEP 1
Add the module with its exact technical folder name.
- Upload the ZIP with CGY-Uploader or extract it manually.
- Confirm the final path is
protected/modules/cgy-youtube. - Enable CGY-YouTube under Administration → Modules.
- Open Configure.
YCP tipUse CGY-Setting’s Full Plugin Refresh if the module menu does not appear immediately.

STEP 2
Let the module resolve each public channel automatically.
- Open the Channels section.
- Paste a full YouTube channel URL, including @handle, channel, user, or legacy /c/ URLs.
- Add an optional display name.
- Repeat for additional channels, then save.
YCP tipChannel tabs such as /videos, /streams, and /shorts are accepted; individual video URLs are not.

STEP 3
Set the number and presentation of videos visitors receive.
- Choose a total video limit from 1 to 60.
- Select compact, standard, or large cards.
- Choose inline privacy-enhanced playback or links to YouTube.
- Enable dates and descriptions when useful.
YCP tipThe video limit applies to the combined newest results across every configured channel.

STEP 4
Publish the video destination wherever it fits the community.
- Use the Placement dropdown for Top navigation, Dashboard sidebar, Space sidebar, Space menu above Stream, Footer, or Direct link.
- Choose Multiple locations for advanced combinations.
- Select everyone, members only, or guests only.
- For a Space-menu link, choose all Spaces or one target Space.
YCP tipThe full feed page remains available by direct route even when optional placements are disabled.

STEP 5
Match the destination to your community branding.
- Choose Oxblood Command, YouTube Classic, Midnight Blue, or Graphite.
- Paste or upload a hero image.
- Adjust image opacity, overlay color, and overlay opacity.
- Select the focal position that protects the important part of the photograph.
YCP tipUse a stronger overlay when light text sits over a detailed photograph.

STEP 6
Confirm that YouTube and every selected HumHub placement work.
- Save the module settings.
- Use Refresh feeds to clear cached results.
- Open the video page and test channel filters and playback.
- Visit each enabled menu, sidebar, and footer placement with the intended audience.
YCP tipIf no videos appear, verify the channel is public and the server can reach youtube.com and i.ytimg.com.
MISSION COMPLETE
Your community video feed is live.
CGY-YouTube will refresh the configured public feeds on schedule and retain a recent fallback when YouTube is temporarily unavailable.
